Xiaomi has unveiled the SkyNomad N90 Max Explorer Edition, a crossover featuring a retractable roof design. The company states this model is currently the only vehicle on the Chinese market with this specific integrated roof configuration, which differs from standard rooftop tent solutions.
When the roof is fully extended, the interior height reaches 2.29 meters, allowing occupants to stand upright inside the vehicle. The design incorporates the roof compartment as an integral part of the vehicle's structure, matching the body color and increasing the vehicle height by only 100 mm compared to the standard N90 Max.
The vehicle achieves an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.245, which the manufacturer claims is the lowest among all full-size SUVs. The extended roof creates a loft-style two-story interior space, providing a second-floor area of 1.7 square meters with dimensions of 2110 mm by 985 mm.
The upper level is designed to support a maximum load of 200 kg. It is equipped with dedicated amenities, including an air conditioning system, lighting, standard charging ports, and magnetic chargers to enhance utility for occupants.
