Xiaomi announced the upcoming release of its Redmi Buds 8S wireless earphones, scheduled for launch on September 22 at 10:00. The new model features a semi-in-ear design with each earbud weighing 4.2 grams, developed using extensive ear point cloud data.

The audio hardware includes an 11mm dynamic driver with a large magnetic circuit design. Users can customize sound through five preset EQ modes and a 10-band equalizer. The device also incorporates a multi-layer composite diaphragm and a high-strength dome for improved performance.

The company upgraded the noise cancellation system, claiming a 70% improvement in overall noise reduction compared to the previous generation. The earphones support AI-based triple-microphone call noise reduction, capable of handling wind speeds up to 12 meters per second, alongside adaptive and single-ear noise cancellation modes.

For context, the predecessor, Redmi Buds 8, was released in April with a 50dB noise reduction rating and an 11mm driver, priced at ¥229.
