Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the Smart Lock 5 Max in China, priced at ¥3529. The device features an anti-glare panel and an LED ring light. Users can choose from 12 unlocking methods, including 3D facial recognition and palm vein scanning. The facial recognition system supports individuals between 1.2 and 2 meters tall and unlocks in approximately 1 second, while the palm vein scanner operates at a distance of 10–20 cm.
The integrated 2K camera offers a 192-degree field of view and dynamic night vision for low-light conditions. Inside, a 5-inch screen allows users to monitor the area outside the door. The lock utilizes AI to identify people and packages, detect partially open doors, and alert users to potential break-in attempts. It also integrates with other smart home devices.
Power is provided by two 8000 mAh batteries, offering up to 11 months of operation. When the charge drops below 10 percent, the device enters a power-saving mode, which maintains essential unlocking functions for an additional 2.5 months.
