Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new Mijia heat pump washer-dryer, as confirmed by Shan Lianyu, general manager of the company's home appliance division. The upcoming device features a dual-fan drying technology that previously received an award at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in March.
The development team has focused on optimizing the machine's overall performance and user experience. Last month, the proprietary dual-fan technology earned an 'internationally leading' certification from the China National Light Industry Council.
Regarding other home appliances, Shan Lianyu clarified that new Mijia refrigerators remain fully functional without an internet connection. However, connecting the units to a network allows users to access advanced features and receive OTA updates.
Online connectivity enables additional capabilities for the refrigerator's variable temperature compartment. Users can access specialized food preparation modes, including settings for fermentation and storage of specific items like breast milk or dried goods.
