Xiaomi has officially launched the Smart Lock 5 Max in China. The base model is priced at ¥3529, though government subsidies reduce the cost to ¥2999.65. The advanced Dual Camera variant is available for ¥4352, or ¥3699.2 with the subsidy applied.
The device features a glass handle and an AG-coated floating panel with LED lighting. It supports 12 unlocking methods, including AI-powered 3D facial recognition and palm vein scanning. Facial recognition works within one second for users between 1.2 and 2 meters tall, while palm scanning operates at a distance of 10–20 cm.
The Dual Camera model includes UWB technology for contactless entry and a 2K camera with a 192-degree field of view and night vision. It also features a 5-inch internal display and AI capabilities to detect people and packages. The system provides alerts for break-in attempts or doors left ajar.
Power is supplied by two batteries with a total capacity of 8000 mAh, providing up to 11 months of operation. When the charge drops below 10%, the lock enters a power-saving mode, which allows it to maintain basic unlocking functions for an additional 2.5 months.
