Xiaomi has introduced the Dragonscale battery for its Skynomad SUV models, developed in collaboration with CALB and Sunwoda. The company provides a lifetime safety guarantee against spontaneous combustion and fires resulting from collisions. If a quality defect leads to self-ignition, Xiaomi will provide a free replacement car of the same specification.
The battery features high-voltage isolators with millisecond-level switching and redundant insulation. It is managed by a cloud-based AI system that samples cell data 10 times more frequently than national standards. Tests at 55 °C with full charge show that individual cell fires do not spread to the rest of the pack.
The Dragonscale battery will debut on September 7 with the Skynomad EREV SUV lineup, specifically the N90 and N70 models. While the current SU7 and YU7 models use batteries from CATL and BYD's FinDreams, it is not yet known if the Dragonscale tech will be integrated into these vehicles.
