Xiaomi has initiated the global beta testing phase for its HyperOS 4 operating system. The initial stage includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone models, following the Chinese release one month ago.
A second testing round is scheduled for September 17, 2026. This phase will expand to include the Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15 smartphones. The company plans to add more devices to the program later.
Participants must submit applications to join the beta program, as the number of available slots is limited. Approved users will receive the software via an OTA update. Xiaomi advises users to back up data, as reverting to the previous version requires a full reflash.
HyperOS 4 introduces the Soft Light Glass visual design and offers expanded home screen customization. The update also features faster application launch times and enhanced AI-driven capabilities for improved system performance.
The camera application receives an updated HDR processing algorithm, resulting in increased speed and responsiveness. Furthermore, the company has implemented improvements for video playback and overall system usability.
