Xiaomi 18 Fold will use a dual-supply chain of Changxin and SK Hynix to ensure memory availability. This decision comes as initial mass production capacity for LPDDR6 memory is expected to be tight.
The device will feature the Xiaomi Xuanjie O3 AI flagship SoC, which is the industry's first to support LPDDR6. Xiaomi officially announced that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be the first terminal device globally to feature Changxin LPDDR6 memory.
Xiaomi and Changxin have collaborated since 2022, establishing a joint laboratory. A core team of over 50 people from both companies worked together for a long period of technical alignment and spent a year of joint debugging for LPDDR6 before its official launch.
