Wormhole has integrated Dogecoin into the Solana blockchain using its Native Token Transfers (NTT) framework and the Sunrise liquidity gateway. This integration, which went live on May 23, 2025, allows for the native transfer of DOGE without the use of wrapped tokens, preserving the original asset's metadata and supply rules.
The transfer covers the entire circulating supply of Dogecoin, valued at approximately $35 billion. This represents one of the largest single-asset cross-chain transfers in the history of the cryptocurrency sector. The NTT framework utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to verify transfers while maintaining issuer authority.
Sunrise, a liquidity gateway incubated by Wormhole Labs, launched publicly on November 23, 2025. It provides a unified mint address for incoming assets to prevent liquidity fragmentation. The platform previously listed the MON token from the Monad ecosystem and added the ARB token from Arbitrum in September 2026.
Wormhole currently supports more than 40 blockchains and has facilitated over $11.5 billion in total inflows to the Solana network. Assets listed on the Sunrise gateway have already generated hundreds of millions in trading volume, according to data provided by Wormhole.
