World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a crypto venture supported by the family of US President Donald Trump, intends to integrate its USD1 stablecoin into major online platforms. The company announced a strategic partnership with payment infrastructure provider Mesh to facilitate this expansion.
The integration will allow users to spend the USD1 stablecoin across the merchant network managed by Mesh. Executives confirmed that the rollout of this payment technology is scheduled to take place within the current quarter.
The USD1 stablecoin is currently issued by BitGo and backed by cash, US government money market funds, and other cash equivalents. According to CoinGecko, the market capitalization of the asset reached $4,45 billion.
In August, the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted WLFI conditional approval to establish a national trust bank. This charter will eventually allow the company to issue stablecoins and provide custody services independently, rather than relying on third-party issuers like BitGo.
