Workday announced a partnership with Anthropic on October 13, 2026, at the Workday Rising event in Las Vegas. The collaboration introduces a beta connector that integrates Workday's agentic AI layer, Sana, with the Claude model. This allows users to perform HR and finance tasks, such as checking pay or requesting time off, directly within the Claude interface.
The integration relies on the Sana platform, which Workday acquired in November 2025 for $1.1 billion. The connector ensures that all requests adhere to existing Workday security protocols, including user roles and permissions. This setup prevents external AI agents from bypassing corporate safeguards while enabling access to business data.
As of Q2 2026, over 5,500 Workday customers utilized AI agents, marking a 35% increase from the previous quarter. The company's AI-driven products generated nearly $600 million in annual recurring revenue, representing a year-over-year growth of more than 200%.
In addition to the Claude integration, Workday is launching Agent Harness, a tool for customizing AI agents with internal HR and finance data. The company intends to expand its AI functionality to other platforms, including Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, while maintaining its role as a secure execution layer for enterprise applications.
