Withings has updated its data synchronization policy for new users. Starting October 13, those who wish to automatically export their health data to third-party platforms like Apple Health must subscribe to the Withings+ service.
The annual subscription fee for the Withings+ service is set at $100. Existing users are currently exempt from this new requirement and retain their previous access to synchronization features without additional charges.
For new users who choose not to pay for the subscription, automatic data syncing is no longer available. These users must now manually export their health records and upload the files to external applications whenever they need to update their data.
The company is known for its high-end health hardware, including smart scales and monitoring devices. For instance, the Body Scan 2 smart scale is priced at $599, while mid-range models cost $280.
