Wisconsin is allocating $25 million in federal funding to install 42 new DC fast-charging stations across the state. These projects will be located in 42 different communities, including gas stations, hotels, and grocery stores, to expand the network beyond major interstates.

Each new station must feature at least four CCS ports with a simultaneous output of 150 kW, adding a minimum of 168 charging ports to the state's infrastructure. The equipment will be supplied by manufacturers including Autel, Gilbarco, and Tesla.

With this latest investment, Wisconsin has met the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program requirement to place charging stations no more than 50 miles apart along designated corridors. The state has now awarded a total of $62.1 million in federal grants to 120 locations.

Federal grants cover up to 80% of project costs, with recipients required to provide at least a 20% match. Currently, 26 previously funded stations are operational in the state. The new sites will focus on busy routes, including US 10, US 12, US 18, US 45, US 61, and US 63.
