Wirex has integrated the Tempo network into its platform to serve as a settlement layer for enterprise stablecoin card programs. This partnership allows fintech companies and digital platforms to utilize Tempo for card issuance and settlement processes. Wirex, which holds principal membership with Visa and Mastercard, provides the regulatory infrastructure for these card programs.
The collaboration leverages Tempo’s advisory services, which were developed through its incubation by Stripe. Tempo assists enterprises in designing card flows, selecting infrastructure partners, and transitioning from prototypes to production. The advisory team has prior experience working with companies such as DoorDash, Deel, Klarna, Felix, and ARQ.
Tempo’s network offers features designed for stablecoin payments, including transaction finalization in under a second and predictable fees. The system supports private payments through Tempo Zones and allows network fees to be paid directly in stablecoins. Additionally, structured transaction data simplifies the reconciliation process for enterprise users.
Wirex’s infrastructure previously reached $1 billion in annualized on-chain volume within 131 days of its launch. The volume doubled 110 days later, marking a period of rapid scaling for the platform. Both companies intend to continue expanding their network by onboarding more fintech and enterprise card programs.
