Microsoft has released the KB5124008 cumulative update for Windows 11, which addresses several critical system errors. The update was issued on September 8, 2026, as part of the company's Patch Tuesday cycle.

The update specifically targets a bug that caused cursor style settings to fail. Microsoft's investigation revealed that the issue was primarily found in non-English versions of Windows 11 due to a conflict between code components.

In affected language environments, the system was unable to load the cursor settings, forcing the users to use default values regardless of any manual attempts to restore the restored settings.

Additionally, the update fixes a black screen issue affecting desktop wallpapers. It also resolves a bug that prevented some ARM64 devices from launching Teams and the new version of Outlook.
