Microsoft has released the first cumulative update for Windows 11 26H2, identified as KB5127648, which covers system versions 26100.9711, 26200.9711, and 26300.9711. This update introduces support for Emoji 17.0 and allows users to remap the dedicated Copilot key to the right Ctrl key or the context menu key.
The update brings significant changes to system navigation and settings. Users can now enable automatic window maximization for applications and utilize new touch gestures for scrolling. Additionally, the File Explorer now remembers the collapsed or expanded state of its sections, and the Magnifier tool has received a modernized interface.
Connectivity and recovery features have been enhanced, with the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) now supporting saved Wi-Fi profiles. Bluetooth stability has been improved, addressing issues such as incorrect status displays and potential system crashes. Furthermore, the update adds OneDrive photo backup options directly within the system settings.
Support for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro editions has officially ended, with Microsoft advising users to upgrade to newer versions. Enterprise and Education editions will continue to receive support until October 12, 2027. The PC-to-PC migration feature has been deprecated in favor of the Windows Backup application.
