Whoosh and Segway have launched field tests for a new electric scooter model in Moscow. The pilot fleet is currently available for public rental as companies evaluate the vehicle's performance in real-world urban conditions.

The updated scooter features a significantly improved range, now reaching 60 km compared to the 35 km offered by the previous version. Despite the capacity increase, the total weight of the device remains capped at 35 kg, supported by a redesigned deck that accommodates a larger battery.

The hardware includes a programmable display for speed and battery monitoring, along with ergonomic handlebar adjustments. The design incorporates puncture-resistant tubeless pneumatic tires, a smartphone mount, and a dedicated bag hook to enhance user convenience.

New access methods allow users to start rides via a handlebar button using wKey or through contactless phone authentication. Braking is managed by a dual system consisting of electronic and drum brakes, while the overall structure has been optimized for easier maintenance and transport.

The scooter operates on the proprietary Whoosh IoT platform. Following the initial partnership established in 2025, the companies will decide on a broader rollout of this model once the Moscow testing phase concludes.
