Whiterock, a Belfast-based investment firm, has deployed £70 million into Northern Ireland businesses since early 2024. This capital is split between £40 million in equity investments and £30 million in debt financing.
The £75 million Growth Capital Fund, which includes £45 million from the British Business Bank and £30 million from private investors, has invested £40 million across 15 companies. The fund provides equity stakes between £1 million and £5 million.
Whiterock manages over £255 million across five funds. Historically a debt-only provider since 2012, the firm expanded into equity in 2020. Its debt operations, managed alongside the Investment Fund for Northern Ireland, have provided £30 million in loans to 60 companies.
The firm is currently planning a successor to its Growth Capital Fund due to high demand and faster-than-expected capital deployment. Whiterock maintains a sector-agnostic strategy, supporting businesses in technology, manufacturing, and consumer goods.
