White hat hackers have successfully secured and transferred 52.37 Bitcoin to the Wyoming-based Crypto Recovery Trust. These funds were rescued from wallets compromised by a specific entropy vulnerability identified in Coldcard hardware devices.

Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, confirmed that white hats managed to protect approximately 40% of the Bitcoin involved in the second wave of the exploit. This rescue operation aims to return the assets to their rightful owners.

The total transfer includes 3.0134 BTC from addresses not previously tracked by Galaxy Digital. While the origin of these specific funds remains unconfirmed, they are believed to be linked to the same Coldcard security flaw affecting other wallets.

Security researcher Nick Bax previously reported helping to rescue 50 Bitcoin in late July to prevent imminent theft. Data indicates that the vulnerability impacts a total of 1,830 BTC distributed across 9,162 unique wallet addresses.

Affected users can verify if their assets are held by the Crypto Recovery Trust by entering their wallet addresses on the organization's official website.
