WeRide has launched a global insurance partnership program to support its L4 autonomous driving operations. Allianz Insurance Singapore and Ping An Property & Casualty are the first partners to join this initiative.

The program covers WeRide's existing operations in China, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, with plans to support future services in Europe. Partners will develop customized insurance solutions, including motor liability, commercial general liability, product liability, and cybersecurity coverage.

Allianz Insurance Singapore, the third-largest motor insurer in the country, will cover the Ai.R autonomous shuttle service in Punggol, operated by WeRide and Grab. Ping An Property & Casualty will focus on Robotaxi insurance for Beijing, Guangzhou, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.

These insurance schemes will support commercial operations on the WeRide Go platform, as well as third-party services like Uber and TXAI. The coverage is designed to meet specific regulatory requirements in both Chinese and Middle Eastern markets.

WeRide currently operates in 13 countries and over 60 cities. The company manages a fleet of approximately 3,600 L4 autonomous vehicles, including more than 1,800 Robotaxis, marking one of the largest deployments globally.
