Waymo has introduced a new incentive program for passengers who combine robotaxi trips with public transportation. Users can now receive a credit of $2.85 for completing both types of transit in a single journey.
To qualify for the reward, passengers must link a Visa card to their Waymo account. The Waymo ride and the public transit trip must occur within a two-hour window of each other. The credit is issued as Waymo Cash for future use.
The initiative is currently limited to Visa cardholders, though the company intends to add support for other payment processors in the future. The program is available across all 14 cities where Waymo operates its robotaxi services.
This rollout follows a pilot phase previously conducted in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The specific credit amount of $2.85 was modeled after existing discounts for riders using BART and SF Muni transit systems in the San Francisco Bay Area.
