Waymo has officially launched its teen ride-hailing service in Nashville, Tennessee. The service allows individuals between the ages of 13 and 17 to book fully autonomous trips within a 50-square-mile area of the city, provided their account is linked to a parent or guardian.
The expansion follows a similar rollout in Phoenix. To ensure safety, the teen accounts include specific features such as trip status sharing, automatic ride receipts for parents, and access to specially trained Rider Support agents.
The company also highlighted research conducted with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Valley and the Legacy Institute regarding the impact of autonomous transport on commuting. The study indicated that access to Waymo rides reduced reported stress levels among interns from 86% to 43%.
