Volvo Trucks has officially commenced the mass production and global delivery of its latest generation of heavy-duty electric trucks. The first units rolled off the assembly line at the company's Tuve plant in Gothenburg, Sweden, following the initial announcement made in April 2026.

The new lineup features the FH Aero Electric model, which utilizes advanced electric drive axle technology to increase battery capacity. This specific model offers a maximum range of 700 kilometers on a single charge and supports megawatt-level fast charging capabilities.

Other models in the updated series include the FH Electric, FM Electric, and FMX Electric, which provide a range of 470 kilometers. Volvo has also introduced heavy-duty variants of the FH Electric and FH Aero Electric capable of handling a gross combination weight of up to 80 tons.

Performance metrics for the heavier configurations vary based on total weight. Trucks operating at a gross weight of 64 tons achieve a range of 450 kilometers, while those configured for 74 or 76 tons are rated for a range of 420 kilometers.
