Volvo has announced a major product expansion, planning to launch 13 new vehicle models by the end of 2030. The strategy shifts away from a strictly electric-only approach, as the company will now offer a mix of fully electric vehicles and third-generation hybrids to accommodate diverse customer preferences.

The rollout includes seven models specifically for Western markets and six models tailored for China. To accelerate development and reduce costs, Volvo will utilize SPA2 and SPA3 architectures in the West and collaborate with its parent company, Geely, in China to share platforms and increase parts commonality to 30 percent.

The company aims to double its market share and enter new vehicle segments beyond its current lineup. This product offensive is accompanied by a new commercial strategy that features transparent pricing, simplified sales offers, and specialized versions designed for faster delivery to customers.

Volvo's leadership emphasizes that this pipeline is the most significant in the brand's history. By offering both electric and plug-in hybrid options, such as the latest XC60 and XC90, the automaker intends to maintain its position as a leading premium brand while adapting to regional market demands.
