Swedish company Volvo Trademark Holding AB has officially extended its trademark registration in Russia. According to data from Rospatent, the registration covers a wide range of products, including traditional vehicles, electric cars, hybrids, and engines, as well as maintenance and repair services.

The application for the trademark was submitted in December 2025 through AB Volvo. Rospatent finalized the registration in September 2026, granting exclusive rights to the brand until December 2035. This legal move allows the manufacturer to protect its intellectual property from unauthorized use by third parties.

Volvo suspended its operations in Russia in February 2022, subsequently transferring its local assets to a domestic investor. Experts note that extending trademark rights is a standard practice for international corporations and does not necessarily indicate plans to resume official vehicle sales in the Russian market.
