Volvo has announced a major product expansion, aiming to launch 13 new models by 2030. While the company continues to focus on SUVs, its latest presentation confirms plans for new low-profile body types, which typically refer to sedans and station wagons.
The manufacturer intends to introduce seven new models specifically for Western markets. These additions will include the aforementioned low-profile vehicles, as well as larger models featuring a variety of powertrain options to diversify the current lineup.
The strategy includes the development of a second vehicle based on the SPA3 electric architecture, which currently supports the EX60. Executives have also hinted at the potential for even larger vehicles designed to compete in the full-size SUV segment.
CEO Håkan Samuelsson has previously acknowledged that the brand may have focused too heavily on the SUV segment in the United States. The company is now looking to reintroduce more traditional body styles to better balance its regional offerings.
