Brooklyn-based startup Voltpost is expanding its network of EV charging stations that utilize existing street infrastructure, such as lampposts, utility poles, and pedestals. The company reports that installation of its modular Air charger takes a matter of hours, as it avoids the need for new trenching.
The company recently deployed 14 new Air Pole Level 2 charging ports across New York, including locations in Albany, Saratoga Springs, and the Village of Cold Spring. These units are mounted approximately 10 feet off the ground and feature retractable cables to prevent damage.
Voltpost has established a footprint in Brooklyn, Westchester County, and Glens Falls. The firm is currently managing active projects in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, and Washington, DC, with additional states in the pipeline.
In July, Voltpost entered a partnership with InCharge Energy to handle installation, service, and maintenance. This collaboration utilizes InCharge’s management software to support proactive maintenance and reduce system downtime for the charging network.
