Volkswagen plans to launch the all-electric ID. Tiguan in early 2027 to replace the ID.4 and ID.5 models. The new vehicle will debut in Europe first, with other global markets, including the US, following shortly after. The company has already released images of a camouflaged prototype showing a traditional, boxier SUV design.
The ID. Tiguan will feature pop-out door handles and an updated interior design. It is expected to incorporate a new infotainment system that includes physical buttons, similar to the ID. Polo and ID. Cross models. The manufacturer anticipates that the vehicle will benefit from recent advancements in battery and drivetrain technology.
These improvements are expected to provide better range, faster charging speeds, and enhanced performance in cold weather compared to current models. The ID.4, which the new car replaces, has sold over 950 000 units since 2021. The official debut of the ID. Tiguan is scheduled for early October.
