Vivo has introduced a new feature for OriginOS that enables real-time synchronization between Baidu Maps on smartphones and the company's in-car infotainment systems. Users can now initiate navigation on their phones and view or modify routes and destinations directly on the vehicle display.
The company is scheduled to host the 2026 Vivo Developer Conference on September 16, where it will officially unveil OriginOS 7. The upcoming operating system update includes a new liquid motion effect, which is designed to simulate the physical behavior of fluids and covers over 130 different usage scenarios.
OriginOS 7 introduces the Atom Workbench feature for standard smartphones, allowing for rapid multitasking and interruptible interactions. Vivo claims the system has undergone a 72-month anti-aging test, showing a performance degradation of only 5.08% over six years of simulated use.
The update features Heterogeneous Computing 4.0, which improves application launch speeds by 12% and page transition responsiveness by 19%. Additionally, Virtual Graphics 4.0 increases rendering efficiency by 14%, while Storage Fusion 6.0 boosts memory recovery speed by 60% and continuous app startup speed by 12%.
Storage management has also been optimized with a new compression tool. This feature allows users to save up to 25GB on 256GB devices, 55GB on 512GB models, and 110GB on 1TB storage configurations.
