Visa Direct and MassPay are collaborating to simplify cross-border payments for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). The partnership integrates MassPay’s platform with Visa Direct to provide businesses with access to payout options, including bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets, without requiring individual infrastructure development.

Traditional cross-border payment methods, such as Swift, often involve delays of one to five days, opaque exchange fees, and limited traceability. These legacy systems create operational burdens for SMB owners who lack the dedicated treasury teams and banking relationships available to large multinational corporations.

Visa Direct supports payouts through international real-time payment networks, ACH, and over 60 card and wallet networks. MassPay acts as the integration layer, managing routing, orchestration, and compliance. The company reports that client implementation time has decreased from three or four months to approximately one week.

The companies aim to address the needs of digitally native businesses, such as eCommerce platforms and the creator economy, which often operate globally from their inception. By streamlining payment operations, the partners seek to remove the administrative complexity that currently diverts SMB owners from their core business activities.
