VinFast sold 389 vehicles in the US during the first seven months of 2026, marking a 63 percent decline compared to the previous year. Over the past three years, the company has delivered a few thousand electric vehicles in the region.
The manufacturer has reduced its dealership network, operating fewer than two dozen locations by the end of 2025, down from a previously announced count of 38. Currently, the company is offering incentives averaging $19,000 for the VF 8 model and nearly $20,000 for the VF 9.
Despite these challenges, VinFast has signed three new franchise agreements in Tustin and Redondo Beach, California, and in Philadelphia. Brian Finnerty, CEO of VinFast North America, stated that the company remains committed to the US market.
Plans for a manufacturing facility in North Carolina have faced multiple delays. The production start date for the plant, originally scheduled for mid-2024, has been postponed to 2028.
