Veridue, a London-based platform for due diligence and M&A in the renewable energy and data center sectors, has raised $4 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Pi Labs, and industry angels including Cameron Hepburn and Jeremy Palmer.
The company was founded by Daniel Csonth, a former McKinsey consultant with experience in energy mergers totaling over $10 billion, and Xander van den Eelaart, who previously developed agentic AI for insurance underwriting at SCOR.
Veridue aims to reduce the project evaluation period, which typically lasts between four and ten weeks, to just a few hours. The platform combines large language models with a proprietary deterministic agent layer trained on actual deal results and overseen by energy specialists.
The company intends to manage the entire M&A workflow, from initial screening to the preparation of investment committee memos. The funds will be used to expand the platform for investors, independent power producers, and renewable energy developers.
The investment comes amid significant industry demand. According to the IEA, data center capital spending by major tech companies exceeded $400 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow by 75% in 2026, while over 2,500 gigawatts of projects worldwide are delayed in grid connection queues.
