VAS Experts has updated its SKAT traffic control and analysis platform by introducing a new dpdk_engine=7 module. This update allows operators to manage ports with varying bandwidths, including 10G, 25G, 40G, and 100G, within a single cluster architecture.
The new engine enables administrators to manually assign ports to specific dispatchers and allocate resources individually. Unlike previous modes, which relied on fixed schemes, this heterogeneous approach allows for isolated traffic processing logic, such as assigning specific memory pools and RSS settings to high-speed 100G ports.
According to Executive Director Artem Tereshchenko, the solution is designed for operators with hybrid network infrastructures. It allows companies to maintain existing hardware and avoid costly full-scale upgrades while optimizing CPU and memory usage across different network segments.
The dpdk_engine=7 module is currently available as part of the latest SKAT platform update. It supports all previous dispatching configurations while providing the flexibility to adapt to diverse network topologies without compromising performance or reliability.
