Valve is actively working on the development of the Steam Deck 2 handheld console. According to employee Pierre-Loup Griffais, recent fluctuations in memory prices have not disrupted the company's long-term product roadmap.

The company aims to deliver a significant performance boost with the new device. Valve is currently monitoring market conditions to determine the optimal timing and strategy for the product launch.

Valve previously stated in 2024 that the next generation of the console would only be released once a substantial leap in computing power is achieved without compromising battery life.

While the company remains confident in its product line, Griffais acknowledged that recent price increases for the current Steam Deck and Steam Machine models have impacted sales, though the exact extent remains unclear.
