UserGate, a Russian cybersecurity developer, has deployed its NGFW solution to protect the Astra Cloud infrastructure. The cloud platform operates within a Tier IV data center and has received FSTEC certification, meeting the requirements for K1 and UZ-1 security classes.

This certification allows government agencies and commercial entities working with the public sector to utilize the Astra Cloud services. The infrastructure model enables clients to bypass the need for independent security audits and the procurement of certified protection tools.

Currently, Astra Cloud utilizes the UserGate NGFW, with plans to upgrade to the uDCFW data-center class solution. This transition aims to accommodate increasing traffic, with projections indicating a growth in routing rules from 500,000 to 1 million.

To ensure compatibility with the specific architecture of Astra Cloud, UserGate engineers performed custom software modifications. This collaborative effort was designed to balance high performance with strict regulatory compliance for the cloud provider.
