The North-Western branch of the Russian State University of Justice has implemented the UserGate NGFW solution to secure its digital infrastructure. The project was executed by the Axoft technology distribution center and the telecommunications provider Comfortel.
The university's network infrastructure comprises over 400 devices, including 50 servers and virtual services, more than 250 employee and public computers, 20 Wi-Fi access points, and 85 surveillance cameras.
The implementation process involved three stages: infrastructure assessment, system configuration and integration with corporate services, and final commissioning including testing and staff training.
The deployment enables network segmentation and perimeter control, helping the university meet regulatory requirements for critical information infrastructure protection and implement a multi-layered security model.
Future plans for the university include enhancing event monitoring and correlation, deploying additional web application and endpoint protection tools, and creating isolated workstations for administrators.
