The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has initiated a Section 337 investigation into Apple, Samsung Electronics, and Google. The probe, registered as 337-TA-1521, focuses on electronic devices utilizing specific audio technologies.

The investigation follows a complaint filed by BoomCloud 360 Inc. on August 14, 2026, with a subsequent supplement submitted on August 31. The complainant alleges that the imported devices infringe upon its patents, violating the Tariff Act of 1930.

BoomCloud 360 Inc. is seeking limited exclusion orders and cease-and-desist orders against the companies. The ITC noted that the start of the investigation does not imply a finding of patent infringement or any final decision on the merits of the case.

The case will be assigned to an administrative law judge who will conduct evidentiary hearings to issue an initial determination. The ITC will set a target date for completing the investigation within 45 days of the initiation.
