According to the Federal Reserve's Z.1 Financial Accounts report published on September 11, 2026, the net worth of US households and nonprofit organizations increased by $12,8 trillion during the second quarter of 2026.

This growth follows a period of stagnation in the first quarter of 2026, when net worth rose by only $113 billion due to weakness in equity markets that offset gains in real estate.

As of June 30, 2026, the total net worth of US households and nonprofits reached approximately $183 trillion. This figure accounts for all assets, including stocks, bonds, and real estate, minus total liabilities.

The quarterly increase of $12,8 trillion is nearly double the $7,1 trillion gain recorded during the second quarter of 2025.

The Federal Reserve has published the Z.1 report since the 1940s to provide a comprehensive view of the national balance sheet. The data reflects market valuations as of the end of the quarter.
