On October 7, 2026, the US government transferred approximately $566 million in seized digital assets to Coinbase Prime. The assets included Bitcoin, Tether USDT, and BNB, with a significant portion linked to the FTX and Alameda Research forfeiture cases.

The largest transaction involved $470 million in BTC and USDT sent to the platform. Additionally, a separate transfer of $94.15 million in USDT was explicitly tied to FTX and Alameda funds. The movement also included 833.6 BTC and 40,285 BNB, the latter valued at roughly $31.63 million.

Coinbase Prime has acted as the designated custodian for US Marshals Service digital asset transfers since 2024. The platform previously received $984,000 in LINK and AAVE tied to FTX in June 2026.

The FTX estate had distributed over $7.6 billion to creditors by early 2026, with legal proceedings ongoing. Market participants are currently evaluating whether the transferred Bitcoin is subject to 2025 executive order restrictions regarding the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.
