Uniswap Labs is introducing a set of resources for developers building on Uniswap v4 hooks. These modular plug-ins are external smart contracts that allow for custom logic, such as dynamic fees or custom pricing curves, to be added to liquidity pools without modifying the core protocol code.

A key addition is the public hooklist repository, which acts as a registry for deployed v4 hooks. It includes metadata and audit links, and developers can submit their implementations via GitHub issues to facilitate discovery and integration.

To improve security, Uniswap launched the uniswap-hooks AI-assisted plugin on July 14, 2026. This tool provides threat modeling and security guidance specifically for v4 hooks developers.

This follows the Uniswap Foundation's Self-Directed Security Framework, published around June 1, 2026. The framework consists of four core principles on risk management and developer ownership, along with risk-scoring worksheets for pre-mainnet code evaluation.

The company has also established partnerships with OpenZeppelin and Trail of Bits to provide audit subsidies. Additionally, hooks are now integrated directly into the Uniswap interface, enabling hook-compatible pools to appear in swap routing and liquidity provision flows.
