Ultrahuman, a health tech startup based in Bengaluru, has signed a two-year memorandum of understanding with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center. The collaboration aims to develop and validate a biological-age model that integrates clinical biomarkers with data from wearable devices to assess individual aging rates.
The model will analyze factors such as sleep, activity, metabolism, and cardiovascular health. While Ultrahuman is known for its smart rings, with approximately 800,000 units sold globally, the new system is designed to be wearable-agnostic, accepting data from various wrist-worn devices, straps, and patches.
The initiative marks the startup's first attempt to deploy health algorithms at a national scale. Once validated, the biological-age model will be accessible to residents across the United Arab Emirates through government digital-health platforms, specifically TAMM and Sahatna.
The United Arab Emirates currently represents one of Ultrahuman's 10 largest markets, contributing 4% to 5% of its total revenue. The company reports that its retention rates in the region are 25% higher than in other markets, with operations established there for nearly five years.
