UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey criticized Reform Party leader Nigel Farage during a speech on Monday. Healey compared Farage to former Prime Minister Liz Truss, describing him as 'Liz Truss with a Bitcoin account' while emphasizing the Labour Party's focus on fiscal discipline and industrial growth.

Farage, a vocal supporter of digital assets since 2020, has advocated for Bitcoin as a tool for personal freedom. His interest in the sector grew after he was debanked by the private bank Coutts. At the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, he proposed cutting capital gains taxes on crypto and creating a national Bitcoin reserve.

The Reform Party leader has recently faced scrutiny over crypto donations. Reports indicate he received millions of dollars from Tether investor Christopher Harborne and BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo. The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating whether the party violated regulations concerning overseas political donations.
