UAZ is currently evaluating several concepts for the next generation of its iconic Bukhanka model. CEO Ilnur Sakhabiev stated that the company is exploring options ranging from a new body on the existing chassis to utilizing the Patriot platform or the localized Sollers Argo architecture.

One proposed path involves developing a new body for the current platform, though management expressed concerns regarding the high investment required for new tooling and the viability of updating a decades-old design. Alternatively, the company is considering a design similar to the UAZ-3165 project, which would leverage the Patriot platform.

Another option focuses on modifying the Sollers Argo platform by adjusting the floor and side panels to create a new single-volume vehicle. UAZ plans to finalize formal proposals, including technical concepts and preliminary cost estimates, by the end of this year to determine the project's future direction.

Despite these development efforts, the current Bukhanka and Hunter models will remain in production. UAZ views these vehicles as specialized technical equipment rather than standard passenger cars, noting that they serve specific regional markets where demand is expected to persist for the foreseeable future.
