MTS analyzed the consumption of cloud backup services by Russian companies in the second quarter of 2026. In the Tyumen region, business investment in these services increased by 10 percent year-over-year.

The construction sector in the Tyumen region currently leads in both the volume of backup consumption and the total number of companies utilizing cloud-based data protection to mitigate risks from system failures, viruses, and DoS attacks.

Cloud backup services allow businesses and individual entrepreneurs to store data externally. In the event of data loss or corruption, information can be restored within the MWS Cloud virtual infrastructure or exported to the client's own site.

Commonly backed-up assets include servers, operating systems, databases, and applications. Alongside the Tyumen region, the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous regions were identified as leaders in backup service usage across the Urals.
