TUAL has deployed its PowerUp Charger technology at three SP Energy Networks sites in the UK. The rollout follows a successful pilot program conducted in Middlewich, Cheshire.

The new charging stations are located in Middlewich, Liverpool, and Cambuslang, near Glasgow. These sites were selected to support the electrification of fleet vehicles in areas where traditional power grid capacity is limited.

The PowerUp Charger system integrates battery energy storage with high-power DC charging. It draws energy from the grid to store it, allowing for rapid vehicle charging even when infrastructure constraints exist.

SP Energy Networks requires charging sessions to fit within 30-minute intervals during breaks and restocking visits. The TUAL system reduces the need for extensive civil engineering work and offers mobility, allowing the units to be relocated if site requirements change.
