In August, accounts associated with Donald Trump executed 517 securities transactions. The total value of these trades ranged from $74 million to $273 million. These disclosures were submitted to the Office of Government Ethics, as required by federal law for sitting presidents.

The largest single purchase in August involved Meta Platforms, with a transaction value between $5 million and $25 million on August 21. Additionally, on August 18, the accounts acquired between $1 million and $5 million in SpaceX corporate notes, which carry an annual interest rate of 5.35% and mature in July 2031.

Other notable August acquisitions included purchases of Netflix, Chevron, and AT&T, each valued between $1 million and $5 million. Total purchases for the month reached at least $44.2 million, while sales amounted to at least $30.1 million, including the divestment of up to $5 million in Advanced Micro Devices shares.

Federal law does not prohibit a sitting president from actively trading stocks, as the primary conflict-of-interest statute excludes the president. While the 2012 STOCK Act prohibits trading based on nonpublic government information, the use of a blind trust remains optional. Trump's accounts are managed by outside parties without his direct approval.
