According to a financial disclosure reported by The Washington Post, President Donald Trump acquired SpaceX debt securities valued between $1 million and $5 million. The transaction occurred two days prior to the signing of a new national space policy.

The policy, signed in August, aims to bolster the American space transportation sector. The government has set a target of conducting more than 1,000 rocket launches and spacecraft returns annually by 2030.

SpaceX issued the bonds this summer to fund several key projects, including data centers for artificial intelligence, the Starlink satellite network, and the Starship spacecraft development.

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle denied any conflict of interest, stating that the president's investment portfolio is managed by independent third-party firms. He noted that Trump and his family have no influence over specific asset selections or timing.

While the administration did not clarify if the purchase was automated or directed by a manager, financial experts cited by the newspaper noted that buying individual bonds to track an index is an unconventional practice.
