Trezor has introduced Clear Signing, a security feature based on the ERC-7730 standard. It replaces hexadecimal transaction data with human-readable information, such as the specific action, token amounts, and destination addresses, directly on the device screen.
The feature is compatible with Trezor Safe 7, Safe 5, Safe 3, and Model T devices. Users can access the functionality by updating their firmware and software, with no additional settings required. The original Model One is not supported.
At launch, the feature supports major DeFi protocols including 1inch, Aave, Lido, Tether, LiFi, and Hyperliquid. These platforms have published the necessary ERC-7730 descriptors, which map raw data to readable labels.
Trezor developed this project in collaboration with Ledger and the Ethereum Foundation. The number of published transaction descriptors in the ERC-7730 registry grew by approximately 28% between May 2026 and the end of July 2026.
If a transaction lacks a descriptor, the wallet defaults to blind signing and displays a warning to the user. This initiative aims to reduce risks associated with phishing and malicious smart contract interactions.
