Toyota's mobility division, Kinto, has added the 1990 Toyota Sera to its Vintage Club rental fleet in Japan. The vehicle, a 2+2 liftback coupe, is known for its gullwing doors and extensive glass canopy. It features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 108 hp and 132 Nm of torque. The car weighs 930 kilograms in its four-speed automatic configuration.
The rental service will operate at the Shikoku Automobile Museum in Kochi, Japan. The Sera will be available for rent on Saturdays and Sundays between December 5, 2026, and February 28, 2027. The cost for a four-hour rental is set at ¥16 000.
The Kinto Vintage Club program aims to provide public access to restored classic Japanese vehicles. The current lineup includes various models such as the Celica, Supra, Chaser, Aristo, Altezza, MR2, and the 70 Series Land Cruiser. Fewer than 16 000 units of the Toyota Sera were originally produced.
