Toyota has introduced the GR Kart, an entry-level racing vehicle equipped with a 215cc engine and a diaphragm carburetor. The machine weighs 83 kg and features a self-charging battery. Its design includes a belt-drive system with an automatic tensioner to simplify maintenance for owners.

The kart is built for durability, featuring a rust-resistant stainless steel rear axle and metal fuel lines. It is designed to fit inside Toyota Noah and Voxy minivans without disassembly. The vehicle can also be stored in an upright position without the need to drain engine oil or fuel.

The GR Kart is adjustable to accommodate drivers ranging from 135 cm to 185 cm in height, making it suitable for both children and adults. The kart is currently available for purchase at 36 go-kart tracks across Japan and select GR Garage locations.

The retail price for the GR Kart starts at ¥385 000, which is approximately $2 490. This initiative is part of a broader effort supported by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda to encourage wider participation in go-karting.
